Deven Philbrick is a multi-genre writer and literary scholar living in Charlottesville, Virginia. He teaches literature and writing at the University of Virginia. His poetry and scholarship are closely related to his study of philosophy, especially process philosophy. He completed doctorate in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan in 2025, with a dissertation entitled Forms of Becoming: Process Metaphysics in the Works of William Carlos Williams, Charles Olson, Robert Duncan, and Nathaniel Mackey.
